Welcome to KG

At Al Shohub, we welcome boys and girls in the KG department.

The KG Curriculum consists of six areas of learning, based on the British ‘early years foundation stage’ curriculum, which focuses on personal and creative development, literacy, numeracy and the world around us. Using a thematic approach to learning, the children are always engaged and develop a love for learning at an early age.

Every week teachers reinforce the learning that has taken place in the form of an ‘activity day’.

This is a stimulating, child-centred learning programme with emphasis on learning, playing and interaction. Children are taught to develop sound learning skills in a caring and stimulating environment. All lessons are taught in English and by the same teacher. KG children also learn our own Arabic curriculum, based on the same principles and taught by specialist teachers.

We have three KG1 and three KG2 classes, each with approximately 25 children, looked after by qualified teachers and classroom assistants. There is also a shared activity room and separate covered outdoor play area.

The school strives to establish a proactive relationship with parents, who are welcome to discuss their child’s progress at any time.
