WELCOME TO AL SHOHUB NURSERY!

Welcome from the Nursery Principal

Danielle Cartlidge

At Al Shohub Nursery we aim to provide your children with the best possible start in their Early Years education through an environment that promotes learning through fun and engaging activities that nurtures children not only academically, but emotionally and socially. Children have the chance to be independent learners developing key skills. This is essential to allow the children to have freedom to aid their natural and physical development. We actively encourage the children to be themselves and to respect others and the environment around them. By stimulating their curiosity and helping them to discover the answers to their questions, children are motivated to learn.

Choosing a nursery for your child is not an easy task. My staff and I understand and value the importance of the early years education and are dedicated to ensuring that all children in our care receive the best possible start on their education journey whilst at our nursery. I am incredibly proud of all the children and staff, and I would be thrilled to show you our fantastic nursery and facilities. At Al Shohub Nursery we are proud to offer a tailored learning experience that is inclusive to all children and their families. We hope that by working in partnership with you, we will provide your child with an enjoyment and passion for learning from a young age.

PRE-FS (2 years of age)

Al Shohub Nursery offers the English National Curriculum (Early Years Foundation Stage), a curriculum that sets the standard for learning, development and care for children aged from 2 to 4 years old; an ideal foundation to prepare them for the start of primary school.

Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development. These are:

    • Communication and language
    • Physical development
    • Personal, social and emotional development
    • Literacy
    • Mathematics
    • Understanding the world
    • Expressive arts and design

Our unique programme also includes a distinct Arabic dimension, so students will also start the process of learning to read and speak in Arabic.

During our Early Years Foundation Stage your child will be learning through well-planned and challenging play activities. We focus on social and communication skills, listening, speaking, concentrating, and forming constructive relationships, and we also develop early literacy and mathematics skills that will help children be ready to start Year 1. Our “in the moment” planning enables us to use the best of the British Early Years Curriculum and incorporate the children’s interests. This ensures leaning is relevant and meaningful for the children and encourages them to take ownership of their own learning. Our qualified teachers give students a positive first experience of school and we encourage a love of learning in our students, nurturing essential skills to succeed, whilst demonstrating characteristics of effective learning.

EXTENDED HOURS ACTIVITIES
