Safeguarding and Child Protection

The safety and welfare of our students is of paramount importance to us at Al Shohub and we do everything within our means to ensure our school environment is safe and secure for all of our students. Listed below are ways in which we ensure our students at Al Shohub are kept safe within the school environment:

  • All employees working within the school must go through appropriate police checks on appointment to the school
  • All employees complete the online courses ‘Safeguarding Young People Level 2’ and ‘Child Protection in International Schools’ as a minimum requirement
  • All employees must adhere to all policies relating to Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • The school has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), plus three Assistant Designated Safeguarding Leads, all of whom have completed face-to-face Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Officer training
  • The school site is secured with a security team at the main entrance of the school and two sets of doors in order to enter
  • All visitors to the school must sign in and provide identification; they are then met and escorted by a member of staff
  • The Foundation Stage section of the school has password protected entrances and exits, held only by employees
